Registry & All That Stuff...

Are you wondering about a few things? Like where we're registered? It's very simple. You've got three options:
  1. Crate & Barrel
  2. Target (we're all over that supreme-sized George Foreman Grill)
  3. The Craig-and-Mona-House-Buying-Fund
And Mona will be keeping her name. When the kids arrive, they're name will be Holmes-Nisker. Yes folks, that means we want babies. Just don't rush us! We'll get to it, we promise...

07.07.2007 - Nice date, huh?

Hello loved ones...

By now, many of you are already aware that we got engaged last year! You’ll be receiving invitations in the coming months…but we want to make sure you mark your calendars! It's on Saturday, July 7, 2007. To make sure it’s etched in your memory: 07.07.07

We’re tying the knot in Central California – San Luis Obispo to be exact – with the festivities taking place at the Madonna Inn. (It’s about 3 hours north of Los Angeles, right in between LA and San Francisco.) So you can get a head start on your plans, here’s what we’ve got in store.

We have a beach service planned at 10am (leave your heels and shiny shoes at the hotel or in the car), then we’ll retreat back to the Madonna Inn for a full-blown party with a big meal, bigger drinks and dancing until 4:30pm. We picked this part of California for it’s natural beauty, tons of things to do, and for you to get a sense of why we live in California. We’d recommend making your plans sooner than later, but take notes so that you end up at a hotel and in activities that suit your style:

Hotels in San Luis Obispo

Madonna Inn – www.madonnainn.com
We can’t wait for you to see this place! When we planned the wedding, we wanted fun…and the Madonna Inn is nothing but. Each room has it’s own unique theme and it’s really wacky and over the top. You can check out all the rooms on the website (it’s worth a look, just click on the “109 Unique Rooms” link.) The reception will be in the hot pink leather upholstered Steak House. We’ll be staying here for the whole weekend. The price range starts at $159 for two, with suites that can accommodate up to 8 people for $380. Some are staying at the Inn for one night, then venturing out to another part of the area…so make your choice! Craig and I have the “Jungle Rock” room. NOTE: If you book here let them know you’re part of our wedding party by indicating one of/both our names in the reservation. Book it now! It’s filling up quickly…

Hotels in Pismo Beach:

Pismo Lighthouse Suites – http://www.pismolighthousesuites.com/
They’ve got a great pool that overlooks the ocean. It’s minutes away from the Madonna Inn, and great if you’re bringing young ones. Starts at $269 per night.

Rent a House in Pismo Beach – http://www.pismo4rent.com/. If you want to rent a house in nearby Pismo Beach.

The Cliffs Resort – http://www.cliffsresort.com/
They start at about $275 per night. It’s actually reasonable for what you get…ocean views, high-end service. It’s gorgeous actually…

Pismo Beach Inn – http://www.pismoinn.com/index.html
Starts at $159 per night, located in downtown Pismo Beach.

What To Do?

Plenty. Take your pick:
  • Wine Tasting. Central California. Need we say more? http://www.sanluisobispocounty.com/static/index.cfm?contentID=60
  • Hearst Castle is one of the coolest things to do. Mona went with her family years ago, and would recommend it to ANYONE: http://www.hearstcastle.com/
  • Golf. Make your reservation as soon as possible. This is some of the best green in California.

  • Beach. 23 miles of uncrowded white sand and surf.
  • Shop. Outlet malls and them some…right in Pismo just off the freeway.
The San Luis Obispo airport is nearby, and from Los Angeles airport…the drive is just three hours. Many of you might want to share the ride up the coast or a room/suite, so just contact Mona or Craig by email to let us know if you want help in coordinating…

Love,
Craig & Mona
